Somehow it all begins to fit together! Good Taste. Sitka Hash. Ever Striving Mastery.

With gratitude to Lady Gaga… her lyrics to “Shallow” featured in the remake of “A Star is Born” really hit home:

“Tell me somethin’, girl
Are you happy in this modern world?
Or do you need more?
Is there somethin’ else you’re searchin’ for?

I’m fallin’
In all the good times I find myself longin’ for change
And in the bad times, I fear myself

Tell me something, boy
Aren’t you tired tryin’ to fill that void?
Or do you need more?
Ain’t it hard keepin’ it so hardcore?

I’m falling
In all the good times I find myself longing for change
And in the bad times, I fear myself

I’m off the deep end, watch as I dive in
I’ll never meet the ground
Crash through the surface, where they can’t hurt us
We’re far from the shallow now…”

Those words somehow bring to mind the last line of my favorite book, ofttimes referred to as the “Great American Novel” – F. Scott Fitzgerald’s THE GREAT GATSBY: “So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.” Somehow it all begins to fit together! Good Taste. Sitka Hash. Ever Striving Mastery.
